Engagement

When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. - Nora Ephron

On September 30th, I asked Jules to become my wife. My proposal was spontaneous, so, in the heat of the moment, I forgot one thing - Jules asked "Don't you need to take a knee first?" Oops. I tried again and take two, kneeling, was a success! - Doug

We both have a strong sentimental streak and were very fortunate to use her grandmother's ring for our engagement. The ring is beautiful and serves a daily reminder of the special bond Jules shared with her Nana. Thanks to Faye's quick thinking, Doug was able to smuggle the ring back to Florida from Boston during the August trip.

The Wedding

We decided to have a quiet, private ceremony on our one year anniversary. We were accompanied by some of our closest friends. Gina, Doug's best friend, performed the ceremony.

We selected Mizner Park in Boca, where we had our first date. After the ceremony, our friends joined us for dinner at Uncle Julio's, where we ate the night we met. After a great dinner with our friends, we said good night and went to an automated holiday lights display we'd visited on our first date!
